Julie Montinieri, EMP

I'm an Energy Medicine Practitioner (EMP) in Suffield, CT.  

I grew up in Utica, NY, the oldest of 6 kids. My mom was an RN,

childbirth educator, and hospice volunteer. My dad was a

gravedigger. He ran a cemetery; our house was on the property

(yes, we have stories). I attended Saint  Michael’s College in VT

because I loved to ski. Lucky me, I could see Mt. Mansfield from

my dorm room window. I met my future husband at St. Mike’s

and earned a BA in English Lit. I landed a teaching fellowship at

the University of Vermont while pursuing an MA. Married to the

same guy for over 40 years, we raised two beautiful,

accomplished daughters. Now we live in rural CT, just minutes

away from two precious grandchildren.

What led me to Energy Medicine was receiving reiki while being

treated for breast cancer 20 years ago. The practitioner slipped

her hands under my low back and I knew: “Whatever she’s doing,

I need to learn it.” Reiki training led me to a school of energy

medicine that blew my mind wide open.

I have a diploma from  the Institute of Healing Arts and Sciences 

(formerly located in Bloomfield, CT).  The curriculum  was approved 

by the State of Connecticut Department of Higher Education. 

I often (half) joke that it was four years  of learning healing techniques

and group therapy.  I love sharing  the enrichment I received  with my 

clients every day.

I’m in the crone (wise woman, smile) phase of life. I read

endlessly. I love meeting friends for coffee dates. I enjoy walking

along the Connecticut River (including heron sightings) almost

daily. I practice yoga and meditation. I’ve led meditation circles 

since 2012 because the power of women gathered in circles

basically holds the world together.

My ultimate goal is to provide a safe space where you can claim your divine inheritance -– the peace of living in harmony with yourself, others, Earth and Source.  You will make positive choices, leaving self-betrayal behind. Aligned with your authentic self,  in better relationship with others, and without compromising your integrity, you'll serve yourself and others in mutually beneficial ways. Life becomes a joy.

Doing this work is my honor and privilege. I'm awed by it just about every day.  I look forward to supporting your personal and/or spiritual evolution.

Co-Creator/Facilitator, Journey to Self: Beyond Anxiety and Depression, a therapeutic group combining cognitive behavioral therapy and holistic healing. Provide coping strategies and healing practices to support clients engaged in group therapy. Fall 2016 & 2017

Meditation Instructor, Blue Heron Healing, Live Right Wellness, Rocky Hill Community Center, Kent Library. Progressive relaxation, guided imagery, and sound healing induce heart/mind/body coherence. 2012-present. 

Presenter, Blue Heron Healing.  Lead solstice, equinox, full and new moon ceremonies to align with the cycles of nature for optimal creativity. 2014-present
